Independent audit · Dual career environments

The independent audit provider for dual career environments in higher education.

Elite student-athletes sit inside every metric a university is accountable for. The environment they depend on has never been audited. ALC conducts that audit and returns an independent, board-ready view your leadership and audit committee can act on.

Currently auditing across the United Kingdom.

The problem

One cohort. Every metric. No visibility.

Continuation. Completion. Progression. Student voice. Scholarship investment. Duty of care. Elite student-athletes appear inside all of them, and in almost every institution they have never been disaggregated, because the underlying environmental data is not collected.

The evidence is consistent: outcomes for this cohort are governed by the institutional environment they operate in. The environment is the one variable an institution can actually act on. It is also the one thing no external measure examines.

The audit

The Dual Career Environment Audit

A twelve-week independent audit of how your dual career environment is operating, measured against the Dual Career Sustainability Standards, ALC's purpose-built framework of five dimensions and auditable standards.

Evidence is triangulated across structured athlete consultation, institutional documentation, and system review, so no finding rests on a single account. The engagement concludes with a full written report, delivered to leadership and structured for audit committee use, with every finding rated on a defined maturity scale and traceable to its evidence.

The method is aligned to the Global Internal Audit Standards, with reporting structured to the ISAE 3000 assurance model. Scoping is free. Fees are confirmed at proposal, after scoping, so you only ever consider a fully defined engagement.

01

Time-to-Outcome Integrity

Do student-athletes complete on the standard academic timeline, by design rather than by goodwill?

02

Performance Continuity

Are peak academic load and competitive demand planned together, or left to collide?

03

Transition Readiness

Do athletes leave with viable academic and athletic pathways, including when trajectories change unexpectedly?

04

Demand-Fluctuation Recovery

Does the environment absorb collision moments and recover, or does strain accumulate?

05

Support Ecosystem Coherence

Is the athlete supported by a coordinated system, or acting as the integrator of their own support?

The engagement in detail

The practitioner

Every engagement carries a named, accountable auditor.

ALC engagements are led by Jon-Pierre Jones, Founding Director and Lead Auditor. His doctoral research at Loughborough University London develops the theory of readiness under fluctuating demand, which grounds ALC's audit method and is cited by the firm as published academic work. Audit methodology is aligned to the Global Internal Audit Standards.

Every report names its auditor. That is the accountability trail procurement functions and audit committees expect, present from the first engagement.
